Stan Painter grew up in Oroville, California where he found only one art class offered in high school, in which the instructor created a curriculum specifically for those who were interested. Later, Painter entered the California College of Arts and Crafts, and graduated from California State University, San Jose. Later, he launched an independent art career of his own: It continues today as a successful business called The Painters Place, in Larkspur. The majority of his works are of his favorite subject, Marin, where Painter has been painting full time for many years.
