Sherrill Miller is a landscape artist who was born and raised in two places that were centers for California Impressionism, Pasadena and Laguna Beach.

She studied art at U.C. Berkeley and Bennington College and continued art studies at the Laguna Beach Art Center and Design. Miller became disappointed in college art programs, so she pursued a career in psychotherapy and career counseling. Miller returned to painting landscapes as a way to connect with the environment through the tradition of plein air painting. In 1997, she was one of the co-founders of BayWood Artists.

She teaches art through adult art programs in Marin. She is a member of several art organizations including California Art Club, Laguna Plein Air Association, American Impressionist Society, and Oil Painters of America. She has shown work in both the Haggin and Riverside Museums. She has been a long time artist with MarinScapes. She was the featured artist for MarinScapes in 2010.

She has been in many California Art Club shows including at the Old Mill in San Marino, Bennington Center for the Arts and the Gold Medal Exhibition. She was one of ten artists chosen for an oral history that focused on the healing aspects of painting in Marin for the Marin County Libraries. Miller’s art work has been exhibited in many shows and galleries including the Bluebird Gallery in Laguna Beach; Sausalito Art Collections, Molinar Gallery in Tiburon, Painter’s Place in Larkspur and the Studio Gallery in San Francisco.
