Please join us in welcoming Tamara Player as our new Chief Executive Officer, starting October 3, 2016.

Ms.Player brings more than 23 years of experience in behavioral health care, including 12 years on the executive level as Chief Operating Officer for community behavioral health centers in Colorado and Maine. Trained as a clinical social worker, she also worked directly with clients for 13 years.

“When I first learned about Buckelew Programs, I was excited to see the focus on wellness and recovery of the whole person, commitment to the entire community and continuous quality improvement,” Ms. Player says. “I’m impressed with the excellent reputation and strong foundation that Buckelew has already built throughout Sonoma, Napa and Marin. I look forward to working with the Buckelew Programs team to continue and expand upon their great work.”

Just last month Ms. Player was recognized by the Denver Business Journal as one of their 2016 Outstanding Women in Business (healthcare category).

“In this rapidly changing healthcare environment, this is the right time for someone with as much experience and as many innovative strategic successes as Tamara to take the helm at Buckelew Programs,” says Buckelew’s Board President Dave Green. “She is a strong leader—professional and collaborative, as well as assertive, kind and engaging. Her commitment to community and her solid behavioral healthcare background mirror much of Buckelew Program’s mission and culture.”

Ms. Player and her husband will reside in Novato.
